Who is Celeste?

Pascale Nivet-Bernetière
AKA Céleste Mogador

Pascale Nivet-Bernetière is a multidisciplinary artist who has been freely exploring the realms of creation for over 30 years: mosaic, painting, illustration, embroidery... and now, ceramics.

She is the founder of Céleste Mogador, a project that is both exuberant and meticulous, blending embroidered objects, symbolic jewelry, and decorative accessories, all revolving around themes of love, luck, anatomy, and the living. Céleste’s world is ornamental, lush, and deeply personal.

Today, it expands into a new field of expression: ceramics.

Regardless of the medium or technique—mosaic, embroidery, linocut, illustration—Pascale has always gravitated toward repetitive, almost compulsive practices. It is her way of meditating, of stepping away from the world.

She surrenders to the gesture, again and again, to the point of exhaustion.

Pascale creates because she needs to. Shaping clay has become a source of balance, a wordless language, a way to bring beauty into the everyday.

She embraces an intuitive form of creation, free from intellectual overthinking.

She distances herself from conceptual art which, in her view, relies too heavily on discourse and forgets emotion.

Her approach is instinctive, close to Art Brut: spontaneous, free, without calculation.

Her floral, colourful pieces extend this joyful, direct, and poetic energy.

In an art world that too often favours explanation over experience, I choose simplicity.

My pieces do not ask to be interpreted; they invite contemplation.

My approach is instinctive, close to Art Brut: no detours, no calculation, just what comes.

My floral, colourful pieces carry this free, joyful, poetic energy.

To provoke emotion is anything but naive.

I see beauty not as decoration, but as an essence—not as an artifice, but as a necessity.

This is not a rejection of thought, but a refusal of unnecessary justifications.

I believe in the intelligence of instinct, in the dignity of ornament, and in the power of objects that speak without words.

My work does not convey a message, it carries a presence.

If there is a concept, it is this: to create without over-intellectualising, to shape without over-explaining, to offer something silently essential in a world saturated with noise.

“I shit daisies, to make the world more beautiful.”
